2003 - Cobra Motors donated a scooter to help the a Bone
Marrow Drive with the Red Cross in Shelby, NC.
Hendricks Racing (NASCAR Team) agreed to match the money
raised with the scooter raffle. Here's the results:
Hi Bill! Let me start off
by saying thank you again! Our Bone Marrow Drive was a
success, as far as raising money and getting people in
to be typed. As for a match, we will find out within a
few weeks.
We raised $1,800, which Hendricks will match to make
$3,600, which will pay for the typing on the 50 people
we had typed! The Red Cross told me that often times,
when one individual tries to raise money without the
support of a huge corporation, they often fail to raise
enough to be typed, so they were very excited.
Everyone loved the scooters! Curt and Laurie Whitley are
just wonderful! You guys are lucky to have them
representing your scooters. And we have been lucky
enough to get to meet them and spend some time with
them. You know, they came to the Bone Marrow Drive and
stayed the whole time. I don't even think any of the
other people who contributing anything even came!
Again, thanks, you all made all the difference in the
world!
